You’re Not a Man until…. Principles Real Men Live by Pt. 9

Ch 9 Mutual Affection

“For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection”

Mutual affection? That does not sound manly at all. Yet, Peter calls us to add mutual affection to our faith.

So what is mutual affection?

Caring for one another. Being there for others when they need you, even when it is inconvenient for you. In Galatians 6:2 the Bible tells us to “bear one another’s burdens.” That is mutual affection.

The way I look at mutual affection is us, a brotherhood. We are brothers in arms. Fighting to take back manhood. Arming ourselves with the Truth. Helping each other back up when we get knocked down. We watch each others’ backs and would do anything in our power to help one another.

Mutual affection is manly. Don’t listen to the culture around you. We need each other. We can’t go through this journey of manhood alone.
