Today’s culture tells us to get to the top no matter how one gets there. Cheat, steal, or lie your way there; if we don’t obtain the top position then we aren’t a real man.
What if I told you a real man tells the truth, even when he ends up getting the short end of the stick?
That is a radical concept in today’s society. Most guys refuse to admit when they are wrong, let alone tell the truth when it makes them look bad or has the possibility to hurt their reputation.
The good news is, if you decide to be a truth teller you will stand out from the crowd. You will separate yourself from the boys.
The Truth Teller life is not easy, it’s a life full of hardships. Only a real man has the capacity to excel in the life of a Truth Teller.
So who is a Truth Teller and how can we become one?
The ultimate answer to that question, Jesus.
“I am the way and the truth and the life. No-one comes to the Father except through me.” – John 14:6
I’ll be honest, that’s an impossible example to live up to. Jesus lived a perfect life, we are incapable of living anything close to a perfect life.
So there’s no hope for us? Absolutely not!
To be a Truth Teller is simple, but once again it is not easy.
Tell the truth in every situation, don’t hold back valuable information that could get another promoted instead of you, be honest when you fail, keep your word.
The life of a Truth Teller is tedious, the small things do matter, there is no such thing as “a little white lie” in a Truth Tellers life.
As difficult as it is to be a Truth Teller you can’t afford not to be a Truth Teller.
Are you man enough to be a Truth Teller?
