Rescue– if you have ever needed to be rescued you know the joy, peace, and relief that come along with being rescued. A good childhood friend once rescued a kid being swept down the river we were swimming in. The kid was floating on an inner tube up river of us and got out a little to far and couldn’t get back to shore. He came screaming for help down the river and my friend and I jumped in after him. Rush, my friend was a much fast swimmer than I and easily got to the kid before he was swept to far past us. I met them back on shore a short distance down the river and heard the kid thanking Rush for saving his life. Later his parents even came and found us to thank him. Looking back that is how we should be to God. We should search for him just to thank him for rescuing us from Hell. He sacrificed his life and endured pain no other man has to save us from our sins. John 3:16 Just as that kid and his parents were obviously grateful to Rush so should we be grateful to God. Because of Rush’s willingness to jump into action that little boy got to go back home with his family; and because of Gods’ willingness to sacrifice his Son Jesus on the cross we are able to go home to heaven with our brothers and sisters in Christ.
