How do you approach your view towards God?
As a religious obligation? Out of duty and rules that must be followed?
Or do you approach God in the way He intended for us to approach Him?
As a relationship.
Adam and Eve were created for relationship, with God, and with each other.
God would daily walk with them in a close intimate relationship.
Until sin destroyed that relationship. Now, we must face the consequences of our sins.
Or we can except the gift of the sacrifice Jesus offered on the cross.
Through Jesus we are given a second chance to have a relationship with God.
In his book #RelationshipGoals, Garret Karhs writes on the aspects of a what a relationship with God can and should look like.
We often believe a relationship with God is flat and honestly boring. Yet, Garret reminds us that a relationship with the Creator of the Universe is dynamic. Encompassing many different human relationships.
Garret uses aspects and styles of human relationships derived from the Bible to explain God’s relationship goals with us.
Yes, God has relationship goals for us. It is our job to learn what these goals are and pursue God as He has pursued us.
#RelationshipGoals reminded me what a real relationship should look like with God. I have no doubt it will aid you in your journey towards Jesus.
