We were created in the image of God. That statement alone means we are valuable and important.
God thought us to be so important that He stepped out of eternity, by being born into an fleshly body, to spend 33 years on the earth with us humans. Not only that, He died for our sins and was raised to life again so that we would have the opportunity to spend eternity with Him. I believe that makes us extremely important.
My problem has been I begin to believe I am more important than the next person. My time is more valuable than theirs. My duties must get done over theirs because they are more important.
You get the idea. I believe our society has nurtured people to think and believe they are more important than others. For example, I can get easily offended when someone disagrees with me politically, spiritually, or even in more trivial matters.
I get offended because I believe my opinions are higher than theirs. I’m sure you can’t relate to that feeling.
