Is that blaspheme? I don’t believe it is.
“But God” is all throughout scripture.
Instances where God has stepped in and saved the day. Moments in time where God chose to perform a miracle.
Other instances when people are crying out “But God why did this have to happen to me”? “Why have you forgotten me”?
Arguing with God, like a spoiled child arguing with their parent saying “But dad, I really want that toy.”
Arguing with God as if they know better than Him, the creator of the universe.
Hah. That’s ridiculous.
What’s even more ridiculous is we still haven’t learned to do any better.
I find myself arguing with God. Saying “But God if it happened this certain way my life would be better.”
But God has a bigger plan. A better plan.
““For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”” – Isaiah 55:8-9 NIV.
God’s “but” is bigger than our “but”.
Constantly, we must remind ourselves of this fact.
God has the power to intervene. He will step into the situation when we invite Him into our situation.
This doesn’t mean that it will always turn out like we want. Remember, God’s ways are higher than ours.
But God will use the situation for good when we allow Him too.
Let your story be fill with God’s big BUT.
