“I flat-out missed that one.” I thought to myself as the guns of my buddies continued to thunder after the dove still fluttering passed us.
Have you ever missed your target?
I have.
I continue to miss more often than I care to admit.
No matter what weapon, ball, or other athletic equipment I get my hands on, I have the ability to be fairly accurate with it.
Then there are times, like my dove hunting experience, where it seemed as though “I could not hit the broad side of a barn” (to use the old cliché).
Thankfully, I was not the only one struggling that day with my accuracy issues. That is the reason I decided to write this post.
To remind you, brother, you are not the only one to miss the mark.
“[F]or though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again, but the wicked stumble when calamity strikes.” – Proverbs 24:16
A real man may miss his mark but he simply owns up to his misses and learns from them.
That distinguishes him from other so called “men”.
When you miss, do not allow it to define you.
Take another shot, aim at continuously improving, like all real men do.
