I’ve never been the one to be still. In school I was always moving, fidgeting, driving my teachers and classmates crazy.
That’s why I loved the outdoors. I could move. I was free. No need to be still.
Be still. Ugh. Those words are boring. There’s no action in being still. There’s no fun in being still.
Nothing is accomplished by being still… Right?
Wrong.
Being still connects us to the world around us. Take a moment and be still. I mean really still. Is it not nerve racking? In the action packed culture we live in being still is not promoted.
Hustle. Action. Accomplishing. Busyness. These are celebrated.
When was the last time you celebrated being still?
Through trial and error, I learned if you want to experience nature at its finest you must be still.
If you want know God you must be still.
“Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalm 46:10 NIV.
Underrated. Undervalued. Under-appreciated. Don’t continue to allow these words to define being still in your life.
